It forms large clumps of glossy leaves, which are obscured in spring by the myriads of 2” shining yellow buttercup flowers that scream for a macro lens. I put one in a pond made from a sunken bathtub and over the years, it has filled the tub displacing everything. Viewed from a distance in this dry rock garden setting it is a startling sight, an Adonis gone mad. Variety polypetala is not double but much larger flowered than the regular wildtype.____ZONE 5
