Trough gardens are wonderful things; you can grow plants that would be nearly impossible otherwise. You have total control of the trough material, the soil mix and the light and water levels. We leave the building to you but are happy to offer suggestions, hypertufa is easy as is wood, a carved out stump is always cool, and sandstone and limestone are easily carved with a portable diamond saw. You can rent them by the hour, they will even cut granite. If money is no object you can import real stone sinks from England. Add some stones and matching stone chip mulch and you are good to go.
