Paeonia lactiflora

What a way to end the peony season, these are the last species to flower. Paeonia lactiflora is an important herb in traditional Chinese medicine, a very hardy herbaceous perennial about 3-4 foot tall with large fragrant flowers in a range of colors from white to deep pink and shades of red. It was introduced into Europe in 1800 and is the ancestor of most garden peonies. All our plants are grown from seed collected in the wilds of Mongolia and Northern China. The plants offered here are seedlings from our plants in the garden and will vary some from the seed-parent (the picture by each variety offered) but should be pretty close. They are pot grown and can be shipped anytime.
