Nothoscordum sellowianum

Nothoscordum sellowianum

This little late winter/early spring flowering bulb has also been known as Nothoscordum felipponei, Ipheion sellowianum, Tristagma sellowianum, as well as a host of other names. Whatever the name, it grows about a foot tall with cheery yellow flowers before going dormant for the summer. Native to Argentina, it is hardy to about Zone 7 and thrives in hot summer climates. This form does not set seed which means it can’t become a weed in the garden but also makes it slow to propagate.
